In a carnival-like atmosphere, notable Chieftains of the People Democratic party (PDP) stormed Igarra on the invitation of Mr Abiodun Johnson AKA ABIFA.
ABIFA,an Oil magnet and community leader,
hosted the Party’s Stakeholders today Saturday, 20th April, 2024.
The Party’s get-together which attracted PDP leaders from the ten Wards of Akoko-Edo was organized to interact with the PDP leaders with a view of accessing the current political situation and strategize ahead of the September,21 2024 Gubernatorial Election.
Among the PDP leaders who attended the event were the Executive Chairman of Akoko-Edo Local Government Council,Hon Tajudeen Alade (Esq); Hon. Mrs P.O Balogun, Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Edo State; Hon Solomon Taiwo, Senior Special Assistant ( SSA) to the Executive Governor of Edo; Mrs Bose Ashipa Lady B, LGA Party Vice Chairman; Hon Fatai Maliki,aka Ikaraku 1 of Africa and Ward Chairmen.
Others are Hon Friday Ogbodo, leader of non indigenes/CEO, Frisco Moore Communication Ltd; Barr Steve Dania, Mr Gbenga Martins, Mr Asegah Adodo, Hon Ayoka, Dr Ojo Ben, Hon Bruno Balogun, Mr Structure, Mr Kenneth Akande, General Manager, Supreme Hotels; Mr Benjamin Igbadun, Mr Ojo Agbaje, Evag Austin Jawa among others.
In his opening remarks, the Host,Mr Abiodun, welcomed the leaders present and thanked them for responding to his invitation despite the short notice. According to him, the purpose of the meeting was to join other leaders who have been working to reposition the Party ahead of the the September 21, 2024 election. He extolled the Deputy Governorship candidate, Barr Osariodion Ogie who he said has played significant role in his life, and urged party members to work harder than ever before to ensure PDP’s landslide victory in Akoko-Edo.
The Executive Chairman in the Council, Hon Tajudeen Alade expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Mr Abiodun Johnson for the exotic and first class treat.
Hon Tajudeen also thanked ABIFA for his generosity towards the Party leaders’ logistics cost. The Executive Chairman, who graciously supported ABIFA’s kind gesture with additional fund for the Party leaders, enumerated all completed and ongoing people orientated projects across Akoko-Edo Local Government Area. He also assured the leaders of more dividends of democracy for the people and improved reward and welfare for Party leaders.
The Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Edo State, Hon Mrs P. O Balogun while appreciating the Host for his commitment and support for the Party, expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor for considering Akoko-Edo worthy for the office of Deputy Governor of the State, which according to her, has put an end to the age long cry of marginalization.
Mr Abiodun assured the leaders that he will continue to host the Party in the same impressive manner till the election is won and victory declared. The programme, which was ably anchored by two committed Party members; Hon Olanrewaju Sunday and Hon Kayode Alabi further achieved all-important synergy and bond among Party leaders to ensure total victory in the September, 21 2024 Edo State Governorship election.
