Abuja – 20 suspected hackers have been nabbed by the security agencies, for attempt to compromise integrity of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination UTME results. Africa Independent Television AIT reports.

The 2025 UTME, which was conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board JAMB had faced wide condemnations from parents and guardians, due to lack of diligence in it’s examination conduct and handling of candidates results.

The syndicate group, which has more than 100 members specializes in hacking into computer servers of examination bodies.

The suspected hackers allegedly confessed to willful intentions to remotely compromise the 2025 UTME in order to discredit the embattled examination body and undermine the choice of Computer Based Test as means of testing candidates by the JAMB.

According to the report, the hackers also intended to influence high scores of results for ‘special candidates’ who had allegedly paid huge amounts ranging between N700,000.00 and N2,000,000.00.

The syndicate group, whose membership cut across private schools owners, who run notorious ‘special centres’ perpetuate examination malpractices through collaborations with corrupt examinations supervisory officials.
